Officials with Wright County Egg, issued a national recall for 13 brands of eggs because they had the potential to be contaminated with salmonella. The eggs were packed between May 16 and August 13.    The weather is hot and the biting insects are out.  Ticks and mosquitoes can be a nuisance.  They can also cause disease.  West Nile virus can be transmitted to humans from birds via the mosquito.  Most people infected with West Nile virus have mild illness or even no symptoms at all, but it can cause serious illness such as meningitis or encephalitis.
