Disposal of Unused Prescription Drugs Saves Lives!!

Protect your family Dispose of all unused OpiodsData from the National Survey on Drug Use and Health states that nearly one-third of people aged 12 and overwho used drugs for the first time began by using a prescription drug for non-medical purposes.  More than 100 different pharmaceuticals have been detected in lakes, rivers, reservoirs and streams across the USA and around the world. These pharmaceuticals can have negative impacts on not only our health but the health of our aquatic systems and the animals that live in them.

Pharmaceuticals are not just found in our surface waters, they have also been found in underground aquifers, which make up 40% of our everyday drinking water. To protect the environment, it is no longer acceptable to dispose of unused or expired medications in a toilet or down a drain. The best way to keep pharmaceuticals out of our lakes, rivers, streams and aquifers is to have them incinerated. Residents have a few great opportunities to safely dispose of unused Drugs:
