Tony Hoffman's Presentation to Ste Genevieve Community

The Ste Genevieve Community would like to thank Tony Hoffman for his excellent presentation last night at the Ste Genevieve High School Performing Arts Center. His personal and informative presentation reached many people to openly discuss addiction and reduce the stigma attributed to families or individuals struggling with addiction issues.

Mr. Hoffman discussed his own personal struggle with addiction, beginning at an early age, consequences he faced, and his road to recovery. He passionately talked about mental health issues involving addiction and broke through the misconception that addiction is always a personal choice. He included a discussion on early teen prevention, addiction intervention, and better ways to communicate with persons struggling with addiction.

The most heartwarming part of the program was the open discussion time when Tony accepted, and warmly addressed questions and concerns from the audience. He stayed long past the time the program was scheduled to last to be sure he addressed everyone’s concerns.

We appreciate Mr. Hoffman’s time and commitment to provide this program to our community and look forward to his return in the future to speak with our students during the school year.
